Japan Will Pay Tourists

See Japan, Get Paid

Many tourists visit a foreign country, see all the sights* in the guide book and complain* the whole time about the confusing* signs,* the unhelpful people and the general difficulty of traveling.

Now, Japan will pay approximately 100 native English, Chinese and Korean speakers to visit key cities and come up with ideas on how to make it easier for travelers to use public transportation, stay at local hotels and eat at local restaurants.  They will also check to see that all the signs are correct.

“It’s hard for us Japanese to judge* how prepared different parts of the country are – we need people to use as monitors who really don’t know Japan at all,” a spokesperson for Japan’s National Tourism Agency said.

sight – pamětihodnost
complain – stěžovat si
